My heart rate grew rapid at the sight of the beef,

And if it could not be mine, I might just succumb to grief.

But I had no cause for worry, as The Trapper, most kind,

Passed me that sweet jerky, just like gold, freshly mined.

As I devoured the meat treat I felt my hunger subside,

And the Old Trapper watched me with obvious pride.

My eyes closed in joy, as I continued to chew,

And when they opened some time later, The Trapper had vanished from view.

I was sad for a moment, but my heart did soon lift,

For The Trapper had given me the finest Christmas gift.

The End
